How to Reclaim Your Energy and Identity After Having a Baby
The moment you become a mom, your world shifts on its axis.
It’s a beautiful, life-altering change, but it can also come with a period of disconnection.
You might look in the mirror at a body you don’t quite recognize or feel a sense of loss for the person you were before sleepless nights and endless diaper changes.
If you’ve ever felt this way, you are not alone, and our guest this week is here to remind you that the strongest version of you is still in there.
We are so excited to share our conversation with Zoe Yeo, a mom, fitness coach, and a dear friend of Cara’s and the You’re Mom Enough Fam.
Zoe gets incredibly honest about her own journey. Despite being a lifelong athlete, she faced her own setbacks from injuries to health scares that pulled her away from fitness.
It was after the birth of her son that she knew it was time to reconnect with herself, not just for how she looked, but for how she felt.
This conversation is packed with gentle encouragement and actionable advice for any mom who feels overwhelmed.
Zoe dismantles the "I don't have time" barrier, sharing how she strategically schedules her own workouts during her son's naps. She reminds us that the goal isn't perfection; it's consistency.
The simple act of starting, whether it’s a 10-minute walk or a full workout, is the most powerful step you can take toward feeling more energized, present, and like yourself again.
TLFMTR (Too Long For Mom To Read):
The Hardest Part is Showing Up: The biggest hurdle is simply starting. Once you show up for yourself, you've already done more than enough.
Schedule Your Self-Care: You can create time for movement. Plan your workouts around your baby's naps or trade off with your partner when they get home. Your time is just as important.
Energy In, Energy Out: It seems counterintuitive, but exercising when you're tired can actually give you more energy to keep up with your little ones and tackle your day.
You Are Still In There: Even when you feel like you've lost the person you were before kids, the best parts of you always exist. Fitness can be a way to reconnect with that inner rockstar.
What is one small way you can show up for yourself this week, even for just 10 minutes?
Remember, you are a great mom, and you're not alone in this.
